DESCRIPTION:Following the Centenary celebrations in Japan and the Republic of Korea\, UNIDROIT is pleased to announce further events in Asia\, taking place in Beijing on 30–31 October 2026 and Hong Kong on 2–3 November 2026\, as the Institute’s regional celebrations gather momentum. \nMarking 100 years of UNIDROIT\, these events will celebrate a century of achievement in the harmonisation of private law while looking ahead to the legal challenges and opportunities shaping international commerce. From the continuing relevance of the Institute’s flagship instruments\, including the Cape Town Convention\, to emerging legal frontiers in the digital economy\, these events will provide opportunities to reflect on the Institute’s contributions to international private law and to discuss legal developments and priorities across the Asia-Pacific region. \nThe celebrations will reach a high point in Hong Kong\, where the Centenary Regional Conference will coincide with the opening of the UNIDROIT Asia-Pacific Liaison Office—the Institute’s first regional presence outside its headquarters in Rome. DESCRIPTION:Marking UNIDROIT’s Centenary\, the second edition of the UPICC International Arbitration Moot will hold its preliminary rounds in Hong Kong from 4 to 6 November 2026.\nThe competition is co-organised by the UNIDROIT Asian Transnational Law Centre (ATLC) and the Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Court / China (Beijing) Securities and Futures Arbitration Center (“BAC/BIAC”).\nThrough simulated international arbitration proceedings\, students will research and apply the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts to a hypothetical international commercial dispute.\nThe UPICC Moot offers an opportunity to develop advocacy skills and deepen understanding of international contract law and arbitration.\nThe top four teams in the preliminary rounds will advance to the semi-final and final rounds\, to be held at UNIDROIT’s headquarters in Rome.
