The Diplomatic Conference to adopt a Rail Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment was held, under the joint auspices of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) and the Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF), at the invitation of the Government of Luxembourg, in Luxembourg, from 12 to 23 February 2007.
42 States and 11 international Organisations participated in the Diplomatic Conference.
The following 29 States signed the Final Act (English, French, German) at the closing ceremony of the diplomatic Conference: Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Finland, France, Gabon, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonsia, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Nigeria, Qatar, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland,United Kingdom, United States of America and Viet Nam.
The following States signed the Rail Protocol at the closing ceremony of the diplomatic Conference: Gabon, Italy, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
The Luxembourg Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters specific to Railway Rolling Stock (hereinafter: the Rail Protocol) was drafted and adopted by the Conference in English, Frenchand German.
Status of the Rail Protocol.
UNIDROIT was designated Depositary of the Rail Protocol under Article XXXVII (1) thereof.
