SECRETARY-GENERAL OPENS 3RD CESMAC LAW CONFERENCE IN MACEIO

The Secretary-General of UNIDROIT delivered the first lecture at the 3rd edition of Law Conference of the Centro de Estudos Superiores de Maceió (CESMAC), with a speech on the Protection of Historic and Artistic  Heritage and the Fight against the Traffic of Cultural Property on 18 May  in Maceio (Brazil).  Welcome addresses were delivered by Dr. João Rodrigues Sampaio Filho (Rector, CESMAC), followed by Dr. Fernando Amorim (Law Faculty Coordinator, CESMAC) . The Conference, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Fernando Sérgio Tenório de Amorim and Prof. Esp. Gislaine Rosalia Migliati, attracted an international audience of about 1,300 people. Prior to the event in Maceio, on 16 May, the Secretary-General visited the Brazilian Diplomatic Academy (Instituto Rio Branco), where he delivered a lecture on UNIDROIT’s Contribution to the Development of Transnational Commercial Law, and held consultations with the Director and staff of the Economic Department of the Ministry of External Relations in Brasilia.
