UNIDROIT in online University of Bologna-QMUL Conference on New Chinese Civil Code

On 2 November 2021, the University of Bologna and the School of Law at Queen Mary University organised an online conference entitled “New Chinese Civil Code: A Law for Transition”. The conference was opened by a Keynote by Professor Thomas Duve (Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory), and saw the participation of Deputy Secretary-General Professor Anna Veneziano in the first panel chaired by Dr. Matthieu Burnay (QMUL), together with Professors Chen Lei (Durham Law School, City University Hong Kong) and Marina Timoteo (University of Bologna), with a presentation on the UNIDROIT Principles as an Inspiration for Legal Drafting and the Chinese Civil Code. The second panel, chaired by  Professor. Jacques-Henri Herbots (University of Leuven), addressed “Some Highlights on the Chinese Civil Code”, with participation of Dr. Mimi Zou (University of Reading), Dr. Wu Lan (China University of Political Science and Law), and Professor Bian Yongmin (International University of International Business and Law), with conclusions delivered by Mr. Hermes Pazzaglini (Advant-Nctm Law Firm).
