UNIDROIT participates in Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Financing for Development (UNCTAD)

On Friday 2 December, Deputy Secretary-General Anna Veneziano represented UNIDROIT at the 6th session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Financing for Development, organised by UNCTAD and held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. She presented on the role of private and commercial uniform law instruments on access to credit developed by UNIDROIT in reaching sustainable development goals, in a panel entitled “Scaling-up development finance II: The role of multilateral development banks and of innovative financing instruments”, moderated by H.E. Mr. Federico Villegas (Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Argentina), and with participation of Prof. Paulina Beato, (Barcelona School of Economics), Ms. Maria Netto de A. C. Schneider (Inter-American Development Bank) and  Mr. Avinash Persaud (Emeritus Professor of Gresham College and Special Envoy to the Prime Minister of Barbados on Investment and Financial Services).
