UNIDROIT participates in the 2nd expert meeting of ICOM International Observatory on Illicit Traffic in Cultural Goods

On 6–7 July 2026, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) hosted the 2nd expert meeting of ICOM International Observatory on Illicit Traffic in Cultural Goods in Paris.

The platform is undergoing a major technological, design, and content upgrade backed by a three-year European Union-funded initiative named PRISM (Prevention, Research, Investigation and Security in Museums) led by ICOM’s Heritage Protection Department located at the International Secretariat in Paris.

Over two days, participants shared expertise, reviewed new content, and explored interactive features designed to support the international fight against the illicit trafficking of cultural goods.

UNIDROIT is proud to participate in this initiative, as it was involved in the first phase of the Observatory when created in 2013, and bring its support to its long standing partner ICOM.
