Cape Town Convention and Aircraft Protocol – Accession by the Republic of Lithuania

On 29 August 2025, Ms Laura Tilūnaitė, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Italy, accompanied by Ms Jurgita Laurinénaité, First Secretary of the Embassy of Republic of Lithuania in Italy, visited UNIDROIT to deposit Lithuania’s instrument of accession to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and to the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters specific to Aircraft Equipment. Ms Laura Tilūnaitė and Ms Jurgita Laurinénaité were welcomed by Ms Marina Schneider, Principal Legal Officer & Treaties Depositary.

The Republic of Lithuania made declarations under Articles 39(1)(a)-(b), 40, and 54(2) of the Convention. The Convention and the Aircraft Protocol will enter into force for Lithuania on 1 December 2025.
