UNIDROIT at the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space

In 2023, the UNIDROIT Secretariat participated in the sixty-second session (20-31 March 2023) of the Legal Subcommittee of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, and in its sixty-sixth plenary session (31 May – 9 June 2023) in Vienna, Austria.

At the Legal Subcommittee, Hamza Hameed (Legal Consultant) updated the Committee on UNIDROIT’s work in the area of developing an international system of secured transactions law in the space sector, in the form of the Space Protocol of the Cape Town Convention. Read the full Statement here.

At the Plenary session, Hamza Hameed (Legal Consultant) delivered a statement as part of Agenda Item 4 on General exchange of views to update the Committee on the status and implementation of the Space Protocol of the Cape Town Convention, as well as general activities of UNIDROIT in the area of space law and finance, including the conclusion of MoUs, events, and partnerships.
