Paraguay completes domestic process to become party to the Rail, MAC and Space Protocols to the Cape Town Convention

On 3 June 2024, the Republic of Paraguay completed the national legislative process required to become a Contracting State to the Luxembourg Rail Protocol, the Mining, Agriculture and Construction (MAC) Protocol, and the Space Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment (Cape Town Convention). Paraguay had already become a Contracting State to the Cape Town Convention itself and the Aircraft Protocol in 2019.

Once the necessary instruments have been deposited with UNIDROIT, Paraguay will officially become the first country in history to be fully compliant with the Cape Town Convention and all existing Protocols.
