UNODC launched an innovative tool, the Practical Assistance Tool to assist the implementation of the International Guidelines for Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Responses with Respect to Trafficking in Cultural Property and other related Offences. This tool is designed to assist national bodies, law enforcement authorities, practitioners and policymakers working in the field of cultural property. The Guidelines are based on principles and standards found in relevant international legal instruments, including the 1995 UNIDROIT Convention on Stolen or Illegally Exported Cultural Objects.
