UNIDROIT Deepens Cooperation in Singapore with a Secondment Programme

On 6 March 2026, UNIDROIT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Singapore Ministry of Law (MinLaw), marking a significant step in formalising a pilot programme for the secondment of legal professionals based in Singapore to work at the UNIDROIT Secretariat, as Singapore’s contribution to UNIDROIT on the occasion of UNIDROIT’s Centenary in 2026. The MoU was signed in Singapore by UNIDROIT Secretary-General Professor Ignacio Tirado and MinLaw’s Deputy Secretary of Policy Colin Chow. UNIDROIT warmly welcomes Singapore’s continued engagement and looks forward to deepening this valued collaboration in the years ahead.

On the same day, UNIDROIT held meetings with the Asian Business Law Institute (ABLI), an institution affiliated with the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL). The UNIDROIT delegation was received by Ms Catherine Shen, Senior Assistant Director of ABLI. The meeting strengthened the ties between the institutions and opened the way for future cooperation on matters of shared interest.
