UNIDROIT PRESIDENT AT CONFERENCE ON LEGISLATIVE GUIDES, MODEL LAWS, RECOMMENDATIONS, PRINCIPLES: A “SOFT MULTILATERAL LAW-MAKING” FOR INTERNATIONAL GOVERNANCE

On 22 March, Professor Maria Chiara Malaguti, President of UNIDROIT, together with Professor Attila Massimiliano Tanzi, President of the Italian Branch of the International Law Association (ILA Italy), and Professor Anne van Aaken, former Vice-President of European Society of International Law (ESIL), presented to the Committee of Legal Advisers on Public International Law (CAHDI) on “Soft multilateral law-making” for international governance’.

The event was organised by the Service of Legal Affairs of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the Italian Presidency of the Council of Europe. This was an excellent occasion to illustrate the role of intergovernmental organizations such as UNIDROIT in the governance of the international economic space and discuss new trends and changing models for cooperation and development.
