UNIDROIT Secretariat hosts students from the University of Seoul Law School

On 6 February 2026, the UNIDROIT Secretariat welcomed a group of students from the University of Seoul Law School, accompanied by Professor Dschungmo Seong. The visit offered students a firsthand look at the work of an international organisation dedicated to the harmonisation of private law.

Deputy Secretary-General Professor Anna Veneziano opened the session with an overview of UNIDROIT, introducing the students to its governance, working methods, and key instruments. Legal Officer Dr. Philine Wehling then gave a presentation on the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts (UPICC), explaining their preparatory history, key provisions, and diverse applications in practice. Senior Legal Officer Dr. Rocco Palma followed with a presentation on the Institute’s ongoing project on International Investment Contracts, providing insights into its scope and current status. The presentations sparked a lively discussion with students.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the UNIDROIT Library, led by Ms. Alexandra Logue, Librarian, offering students a glimpse into the resources that support UNIDROIT’s research and legislative work.

This visit reflects UNIDROIT’s commitment to engaging with future generations of legal professionals and promoting understanding of international commercial law.
