On 9-10 October 2025, UNIDROIT Secretary-General Professor Ignacio Tirado and Deputy Secretary-General Professor Anna Veneziano participated in the 16th edition of the Annual Transnational Commercial Law Teachers’ Meeting, held at the University of Tübingen and organised by Professor Stefan Huber.
The Transnational Commercial Law Teachers Meetings are an annual series that originated from the publication of the book Transnational Commercial Law – Texts, Cases, and Materials, Oxford University Press, Oxford, 1st edition 2007, 2nd edition 2015, by Professors Roy Goode, Herbert Kronke, and Ewan McKendrick.
Professor Tirado spoke on the Controversial issues regarding the liquidation of non-systemic banks in light of the UNIDROIT Legislative Guide on Bank Liquidation, which was approved by the UNIDROIT Governing Council in May 2025, whereas Professor Veneziano’s presentation covered the UNIDROIT’s project on Best Practices for Effective Enforcement, which is approaching finalisation. The conference addressed various issues related to transnational commercial law, among others in the fields of interpretation of international instruments, implementation and compliance with treaties, enforcement of creditor’s rights, contract law, maritime law, international guarantees, and international jurisdiction, and, as usual, included a panel with presentations of young researchers.
