Applications Open for UNIDROIT International Programme for Law and Development (IPLD) Africa Plus 2026

UNIDROIT is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the fifth edition of the International Programme for Law and Development (IPLD) Africa Plus, which will take place from 3 June to 3 July 2026.

Organised by UNIDROIT with the support of the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the IPLD Africa Plus Programme is designed to strengthen legal capacity and promote the use of international private law instruments in support of sustainable development and economic integration across African jurisdictions.

The Programme is intended for legal professionals from African countries, including judges, public legal advisers, legislative drafters, and private-sector professionals working closely with public institutions. It aims to enhance participants’ ability to apply UNIDROIT’s legal instruments in their professional practice and to contribute to legal reform, institutional strengthening, and the harmonisation of private and commercial law.

The Programme combines online learning (3–12 June 2026) with a residential phase at UNIDROIT Headquarters in Rome (15 June–3 July 2026), offering participants direct engagement with international experts and practical training.

The application deadline is 28 February 2026.

Applicants are invited to consult the Call for Applications for further details.
