UNIDROIT engages with ITC-ILO LL.M. students in International Trade Law

On 6 February 2026, Legal Officer Dr. Philine Wehling joined postgraduate students of the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Trade Law at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO) for an interactive online session.

The LL.M. programme is jointly organised by the ITC-ILO in partnership with UNIDROIT, UNCITRAL, the University Institute of European Studies, and the University of Turin, in collaboration with the Turin School of Development.

The discussion introduced students to UNIDROIT’s mandate and working methods, before turning to one of its flagship instruments, the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts (UPICC). Through practical examples and exchange, participants explored how the UPICC function in international contracting, dispute resolution, and domestic legal reform. The session provided an opportunity to reflect on the role of harmonised rules in supporting cross-border trade.

UNIDROIT’s continued contribution to the programme reflects its commitment to engaging with emerging legal professionals and supporting advanced education in international commercial law.
